Parent Support

  • Lead parents through The Learning Collective’s ADHD/Executive Function Parent Crash Course™ to build understanding of executive function, neurodiversity, and strategies for addressing related challenges.

  • Coordinate with the student’s family and academic support team to ensure consistency at home and school.

  • Assess the student’s current school experience to identify barriers to success.

  • Help parents choose the best learning environment for their child (public, private, homeschool, microschool, etc.)

  • Recommend curriculum approaches or accommodations

  • Advise on IEP or 504 plan development.

  • Connect families with specialized tutors, therapists, or mentors.

  • Our TLC Personalized Executive Function Support Plan™ equips schools and families with practical, personalized strategies—rooted in the student’s strengths, interests, and nervous system needs—to better support executive function skill development in the classroom and at home.

Academic Support

  • Provide personalized instruction in areas of academic challenge and support students in starting and completing assignments.

  • Help students identify their strengths and interests and find creative ways to integrate them into the studying/learning process.

  • Demonstrate how to set clear short and long term goals

  • Tackle deadlines in an efficient manner

  • Support students in learning how to self-advocate and establish positive relationships with teachers.

  • Practical planning/organization methods.

  • Teach polyvagal-informed strategies to help reduce work and exam-related anxiety

Executive Function Support

  • Educate students about Executive Function

  • Work collaboratively with the student to identify their executive function strengths and how to leverage these strengths in and outside the classroom.

  • Aid in identifying particular executive function skills that require support, and develop customized strategies to strengthen them.

  • Learn to better manage time and identify underlying causes of procrastination.

  • Develop a systematic approach to taking notes, completing homework, following multistep directions, and keeping track of school materials.

  • Help students build an empowered, growth mindset

  • Learn to self-advocate

  • Build emotional and nervous system awareness
